RECRUITMENT, TRAINING & ORIENTATION

TRACIT GUARDS are trained with modern equipment by experts who have served in various military/security formations. The Commandant of the Training School retired as a senior Police officer before venturing into corporate security. At TRACIT, our management is of the opinion that Officers above 36 years can no longer be effective as Regular Guards; they are subsequently transferred to the Head Office as support and Relief Guards or to the Training School as Counselors to assist in the development of Trainees.

To enhance efficiency, TRACIT Guards are equipped with and are carefully trained in the use of crowd dispersal/repellant in the form of Mace-gas (a mixture of Tear & Paralyzing Gases) to effectively manage emergency situations such as crowd control and/or dispersal in times of crises, and on the use of fire extinguishing agents in the event of a fire outbreak. In addition, Guards have been trained to man/operate Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) for effective monitoring of activities within clients’ premises.

Every TRACIT Guard is versatile, trained to perform at least three of the following functions aside from his regular security job: Receptionist, Driver, Life-Guard and Public Relations Officer, enhancing the image of our clients through clean appearance and courteous behaviour. Our training school is complete with modern audio and visual aids with experienced Instructors and Guest lecturers invited from time to time. Physical training to ensure fitness and mental alertness is also undertaken before course examination for graduating trainee cadets.

Our recruitment policy meets that of the International security recruitment standard, and our professional expertise in security is based on sound training programmes, for all levels of officers. This ensures that our service delivery is based on trained competence. All recruits are given a mandatory one-month basic training in security duties, including physical fitness before being kitted and deployed to a client. While in training, all trainees are thoroughly vetted by our Investigation/Vetting Unit.

The basic security courses being imparted on trainees during training includes:

  • Duties and Functions of a security officer
  • Beat Management
  • Patrolling Techniques
  • Powers of observation/Description of persons and objects
  • Legal Powers of officers
  • Access Control procedures
